Connect lock screen

Connect your lock screen to your focus to change the look and functionality of your iPhone at the same time. To activate a focus, you can swipe to the respective lock screen.

Suggestions on the lock screen

iOS suggests a number of relevant lock screens for available focus options, for example a lock screen with different dates if you use the "Work" focus or a lock screen with photos for the "Me time" focus.

Home screen page suggestions

iOS suggests home screen pages with the apps and widgets best suited to the focus you are setting.

Edit a message

You can edit a message up to 15 minutes after it was sent. Recipients can see what changes you've made.2

You can undo sending a message for up to 2 minutes.

Mark messages as unread if you don't have time to reply to the sender, but definitely want to do so later.

Recover Recently Deleted Messages

You can recover recently deleted messages for up to 30 days.3

SharePlay via Messages

Share synced activities like movies, music, workouts, games and more with friends while you exchange messages with them.

"Shared With You" API

Developers can integrate a “Shared with you” area into their app. So if someone sends you videos or articles and you don't have time for them, you can easily find them the next time you open the app.

Invite to collaborate

Send an invitation to collaborate on a project in Messages. Everyone involved in the conversation is thus added to the document, spreadsheet, or project. Works with Files, Keynote, Numbers, Pages, Notes, Reminders, and Safari, as well as third-party apps.

Collaboration updates

When someone edits something, you'll see updates about the activity at the top of the conversation in Messages. Tap the updates to go back to the shared project.

API for messaging collaboration

Developers can integrate their apps' collaboration capabilities with Messages and FaceTime. So you can start and manage collaboration right where you communicate with the other people on your team.

SMS tapbacks on android

React to SMS with a tapback, and a corresponding emoji reaction will be displayed on the recipients' Android devices.

Sign in on other devices

Use your saved passkey to sign in to websites or apps on other devices, including non-Apple devices. To do this, scan the QR code with your iPhone or iPad and use FaceID or TouchID to authenticate yourself.

Sync across devices

Passkeys are end-to-end encrypted and synced to iCloud Keychain across all your Apple devices.


LiveText in Videos

Text is fully interactive in paused video frames. So you can use functions like copy and paste, lookup and translate. LiveText works in Photos, Overview, Safari and more.

Data detected in photos and videos is available for actions with one tap. Track flight times or deliveries, translate foreign languages, convert currencies and more.

Hotel key for multiple stays

You no longer need to add a new hotel key in Wallet for each new booking: with a single key you can check in and unlock your room on your next stays in hotels of the same brand.

Add keys from websites

You can now securely add keys to your iPhone and AppleWatch directly from a website, without having to download an app.

Previous Keys

Easily add your previous keys to your new iPhone or AppleWatch model directly from the wallet.

ApplePay order tracking

With ApplePay Order Tracking, users in Wallet for ApplePay purchases at participating retailers can receive detailed receipts and tracking information.

ApplePay Merchant Token

Merchant tokens allow you to securely set up and complete pre-authorized or recurring ApplePay payments.

Pay multiple merchants with one ApplePay transaction

Now you can submit purchase amounts for multiple merchants on a single ApplePay checkout page. This gives you the flexibility to make a bundled purchase—say, a travel package that includes a flight, car rental, and hotel—and then send the payments to each merchant.

The quick access menu (available on certain passes and cards) allows users to access many features on the back of the pass with one tap.


New home app

The Home app has a whole new design that makes it easier to navigate, organize, view and control all your accessories. Improvements to the basic architecture increase the performance of your smart home, making it more efficient and reliable.14

The redesigned HomeTab lets you see your entire home at a glance. You can find the rooms and the most important accessories in the main tab of the app, so you can easily access the accessories you use most.


With categories for Lights, Air Conditioning, Security, Speakers & TVs, and Water, you can quickly access all your accessories - everything is organized by room and displayed with more detailed status information.

New camera view

Up to four camera views are displayed centrally in the HomeTab, and you can also see other camera views in your home with just one scroll.


Accessory tiles have been redesigned to make it easier for you to identify different accessories by shape and color. You can control accessories directly from their tiles by tapping on each tile's icon. Alternatively, you can tap the accessory name to reveal more detailed controls.

Create a medication list to keep track of what medications, vitamins, and supplements you're taking. Add your own pictures that you can easily remember.16

Medication Reminders

Create custom schedules and reminders for each medication, depending on whether you take medication multiple times a day, weekly, or on-demand.

Log medication intake

You can record if you took medication after a reminder. Or enter them directly in the HealthApp. Interactive charts show you when you took your medication and how well you followed the prescription.

Invitation to share health data

Invite your loved ones to securely share their health data with you. When they receive your invitation, they can choose what data they want to share.

Notification of cycle deviation

You can receive a notification if your logged menstrual cycles show a pattern of infrequent periods, irregular periods, longer periods, or persistent spotting.


Fitness app for all iPhone users

Track and achieve your fitness goals even if you don't have an AppleWatch. With iPhone motion sensors, you can get an estimate of the energy expenditure of your steps, distance traveled and third-party workouts to count towards your daily motion goal.

Apps need your permission before they can access the clipboard and paste content from another app.

Lock Hidden and Recently Deleted albums in Photos

The Hidden and Recently Deleted albums are locked by default. To unlock them, you can use your iPhone's authentication method: FaceID, TouchID, or your password.
